The Justice Alliance of South Africa (JASA) is a coalition of corporations,
individuals and churches committed to upholding and fighting for justice
and the highest moral standards in South African society.
Our Constitution provides that we should work through Parliament, the
courts, the media and in any other proper way to achieve this end (download
our Constitution - 108kb
pdf document).
Our office is in Cape town which readily enables us to make submissions
to Parliament on Bills passing through the legislature and to meet with
Parliamentarians in groups and individually.
Wherever possible JASA is determined to assist Parliament by suggesting
carefully drafted alternative or additional clauses rather than merely
criticising Bills.

JASA and Marie Stopes: JASA has launched proceedings for R.150,000 damages against the Marie Stopes clinic in Cape Town on behalf of Mrs Pillay who was refused counselling and came near to death during an abortion because no doctor was available and there was no resuscitation equipment in working order. See Current cases for Media Release and Particulars of Claim.
Gun Case: JASA is to take this case back to Court very soon in view of the failure of the State to obey the the Court Order made on August 31 2009 to provide proper guidelines for the payment of Compensation. Our two senior Counsel are of the view that the so called guidelines issued by the Minister in November are illegal and unconstitutional.
JASA officially invited to assist the new Gambling Review Committee: This follows our submission to Parliament in November last year - see Current Parliamentary Submissions.
JASA achieves everything we wanted and more in Circumcision Case:
Following the apology from Contralesa, Judge makes Order of unfair discrimination on the ground of Bonani's Christian beliefs, and declares that all circumcision without consent is unlawful.
